I wear that all the time. What's so beautiful about this fragrance for me is it's absolutely timeless yet still so modern.

A London Staple

Sartorial captures the essence of Savile Row in a way I really did not expect - it replicates the clean and refined scents that waft out of high-end shops and private clubs. In my head, I simply cannot separate this scent from fond memories of walking Mayfair streets and lunches along Pall Mall. It is remarkably smooth and fresh and has the lovely tendency to linger on my clothes throughout the day. Sartorial oozes a very English sort of confidence, and I would definitely recommend this to anybody looking to try something new.

Penhaligon’s Sartorial

For me, the best fragrances are the ones that sweep me away to Penhaligons humble beginnings in the late 19th century, my favourite era, ones that give me confidence and make me smile. Sartorial is one of those fragrances that initially confuse me. I never know how to feel or what I make of it which gives it mystery. At first, one wouldn’t be sure on whether they like it or not but what they will find is that they wouldn’t be able to stop smelling it’s mysterious, dapper and sophisticated presence in order to find out. This is one of the all time greats!

If there is one fragrance you need to have in your perfume wardrobe, look no further. A masterpiece created by master perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour, the fougere-styled, dressy Sartorial conveys the wearer to one of the oldest tailors found in the iconic Saville Row - Norton & Sons, in central Mayfair, London, where the finest, tailored suits are constructed. By smelling Sartorial on my pulse point, I'm able to reimagine the atmosphere in my mind - the sewing machines and needles captured by the metallic accord in the opening, to the herbaceous notes of lavender and linden blossom in the heart representing the unfinished suits laying neatly on workstations. Rich tobacco and the honeyed beeswax rounds up the base, suggesting the tailors have a cigar break by the fireplace and the abundance of vintage furniture within the premises.

I bought the fragrance Sartorial for my Dad on his birthday - with a beautiful blend of lavender, steam and vanilla, this classic scent hearkens back to the roots of perfumery with its links to the prestigious tailors of Savile Row in London. Safe to say, he loves the story and he absolutely loves the scent.
