THE BAKER'S DOZEN - MEET THE BAKERS

As Penhaligon's Bakery prepares gifts for those with such good taste, we ask bakers around London to create some festive bakes inspired by our very own scents.

Christmas Pudding from Penhaligon's Bakery

One of our favourite things about Christmas (besides perfume, but that goes without saying)? All the treats! As it turns out, Penhaligon's has a sweet tooth as well as a sweet nose! In celebration of Penhaligon's Bakery this Christmas, we invited four bakers from across London to create a series of Penhaligon's-inspired festive favourites, pastries and cakes. Before your eyes feast on their marvellous creations, we think an introduction is in order. Here are our fabulous bakers ready to kick off the festive season.

Bread by Bike

Our first bakery, nestled between Kentish Town and Islington, sets the bar rather high. Bread by Bike is an award-winning bakery in North London which first opened its doors in 2015. Since then, it found its niche with its prize-winning sourdough loaves. The laid-back and friendly café is an all-day dining spot with a brunch and evening menu, as well as a selection of sweet and savoury pastries baked each day. Head baker Dale Strickland created three recipes inspired by our scents, including a festive yule log celebrating one of our newest fragrances, Penhaligon's AlUla.

British Patagonia

Nestled in the heart of Islington, British Patagonia is headed up by Michelin-starred chef Matias Barbat. Not only is the cosy café a vibrant and inviting spot, but it specialises in vegan pastries without compromising on the quality, taste and texture of your favourite treats. The bakery has whipped up three festive recipes for Penhaligon's, including a panettone inspired by our iconic scent, Luna.

Miel

Miel is a French-influenced boulangerie in Fitztrovia, London, founded by chef Shaheen Peerbhai. Renowned for its artisanal approach and using only the finest ingredients, you'll find buttery pastries next to fluffy cardamom buns and a variety of savoury rolls and tarts. We asked Miel to create four recipes for us, including a mouthwatering mince pie inspired by our limited-edition candle, Festive Folly.

Presto

Last but certainly not least, Presto is a London-based creative studio that specialises in design-led cake and chocolates. Renowned for their colourful, geometric designs and unique approach to baking, we couldn't help but ask founder Lauren Duncan to reimagine some of our favourite fragrances as edible creations. Presto created three recipes for Penhaligon's, including an interpretation of a Christmas Pudding inspired by our latest scent, The Dandy.

INTERVIEW

As our bakers prepare for the Christmas festivities, perhaps you ought to take a little look at Penhaligon's very own bakes - and by that, of course, we mean our glorious gift sets, perfect for those with such good taste.
