Instant classic
Goodness, I was mesmerised by this the first time I tested it and have not wavered from that. It is so deep and mysterious but never overwhelming. Transports you back in time to a place of enchantment. Glorious, thank you.

Winter gold!
This is my December fragrance, hands down! It's so comforting, unique and warming, it's like you're surrounded by something both ancient and Christmasy. Perfect myrrh fragrance and reminiscent of warm, sunny deserts when the world is cold and dark. A definite head-turner with ensuing, curious compliments aplenty. :)

Luxe and luscious
I love, love, love this scent. We were in Epcot and I tried many Penhaligon's fragrances in the England pavilion. I put this one on my arm and walked around the park for a while and I could not stop sniffing it. So, I went back and bought a bottle! It is elegant, resiny sweet from the myrrh, almost gourmand, but not quite. It smells deliciously ancient in a way. My husband says it is a very intriguing fragrance and I agree. It is my favorite perfume now.

Perfect complexity, my go-to
This wonderful scent has taken its place as my permanent first pick for fragrance. There are so many layers to this beautiful perfume, it is masterfully blended and not overwhelming. It is well balanced, fairly unisex, and just a delight to wear!

Utterly luscious and bright.
The warmth of myrrh and vanilla with spicy notes of licorice-y fennel. It is somehow both warm and bright due to the fennel and citrusy green notes of rosemary (of which there’s only a hint of). I got a sampler and absolutely love it. Having been to Petra, I can say this fits in well with the images I still carry from that magical fortress. Now I need to decide if I should buy this or the Yasmine, which is another favorite scent yet totally different.

Worth the wait..
Once again never fails to deliver on opulence and splendour my new favourite and there are a few, the first nose tickle your hooked and you loose your mind to a far away land of mystery and exquisite charm, the first burst of scent delivers then once settled its with you all day, like Halfeti and Constantinople alike this Trade routes member is one for the collection, they are all like Petra quite literally addictive, thank you Penhaligons…

My new Favourite
have quite a few Penhaligons that I like, probably Halfeti being my favourite followed by Lothair and then Endymion. Had a few that I liked in the shop but didn't want to use long term like Lord George. So didn't want to risk buying something I wasn't sure of but liked the descripton, so bought the tester and like it so much I have ordered a full size bottle. I don't like soapy smelling scents, prefer the woody style, I think this is sort of tobacco, leather and vanilla but my wife doesn't get the first two. Have been using for a week and I must saying going back to the others I much prefer Petra. Will be buying more of this to be sure...

Deliciously seductive
Ordered a sample, excitedly sprayed it on my wrists and like a secret being revealed, my senses were spinning. I absolutely adore this fragrance. It is strong and heady and makes me feel gorgeous. I can unequivocally say that this is, hands down, my favourite scent of any perfumery let alone from Penhaligons house, and I have a lot of Penhaligons fragrances, this one is unbeatable. It genuinely is the dreamed of, elusive scent of something timeless and very like incense (undoubtedly thanks to the myrrh) that I have been longing for ! It is complete perfection on my skin.

Absolutely stunning!
Spicy but somehow still fresh! I’m a huge fan of liquorice but some fragrances don’t know how to make it work without making the scent too sweet. This concoction is excellently balanced. Loved at first sniff!

I am obsessed, this scent is gorgeous.
I recently bought this perfume, it is my first Penhaligon's scent, and I am absolutely in love with it. I have tried many samples of different scents from this house, giving up feeling defeated a couple times, to try to find my signature Penhaligons scent, and this one struck me like lightning when I first smelled it on my skin. I thought of nothing else until I finally got my hands on this bottle. The licorice, myrrh and bergamot are blended so elegantly that it is sweet, bright, powerful, yet seductive. I am a big perfume enthusiast and I sincerely hope that this scent is around a long time because I have ignored the rest of my collection entirely in favor of this bottle for the last 2 months. I so wish there were bath and body products in this scent because as the saying goes, "I could bathe in this stuff!"
